If it needs a cryptographic keys or a password, the DiceKeys app can generate one exclusively for that app to use.If you let other apps scan your DiceKey, it can create any key that can be generated from your DiceKey, including ones you might not want it to have access to. Even if the app is designed by someone you trust, it may be more complex and have hidden vulnerabilities.
Before scanning your DiceKey, always launch the app from your device’s application list.
Otherwise, another app might mimic the DiceKeys app to trick you into allowing it to scan your DiceKey.
If you have saved your DiceKey in the DiceKeys app, there’s no need to worry.
Only the DiceKeys app will allow you to load your saved DiceKey.
If you need to scan your DiceKey, launch the DiceKeys app from your device’s app screen. Scan your DiceKey into the DiceKeys app, then switch into the app that needs your DiceKey.
When that app sends you to scan your DiceKey, you’ll know you’re in the correct DiceKeys app because your DiceKey will already be scanned in. If you’re asked to re-scan it, you may not be in the DiceKeys app and you should quit and re-start the DiceKeys app.
